Swadhyaya refers to the study of the virtuous ideas, extraordinary characters, great men and good literature, on whose basis the person assesses himself in the context of his ideological- emotional state and receives the necessary motivation and guidance to rise up and move towards that direction. The main objective of the presented research is to study the impact of Swadhyaya on the mental health of adolescent girls. Experimental and controlled group design has been used in this study. 100 girls within the age group of 16 to 18 were selected for the study from the Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar, U.P. through a random sampling method. 50 students were placed in the experimental group while the other 50 were placed in the controlled group. The Swadhyaya was regularly administered on the experimental group for three months; 5 days per week for 30 minutes each day. The data was collected in 3 stages by the mental health scale. ANOVA test was used by SPSS version 18 for statistical analysis. The results obtained from the study signifies that Swadhyaya has a positive effect on the mental health of the adolescent girls.
