Emotions are the basis of life. Today, problems have arisen in all aspects of life due to emotional crudeness. These problems can be resolved through devotion. Devotion is the ultimate love for God. Narada Bhakti Sutra and Shaindilya Bhakti Sutra are the most significant ancient texts related to Bhakti. No research work has been done on the comparative study of Narada Bhakti Sutra and Shaindilya Bhakti Sutra but both of these texts have been translated in different languages. While doing the comparative study of the means of attaining devotion of Narada Bhakti Sutra and Shaindilya Bhakti Sutra, it is found that there are some similarities and a few differences. One similarity between the means of devotion in the Narada Bhakti Sutra and the Shaindilya Bhakti Sutra is that devotion has been considered as the main medium of attaining Prema Bhakti. One difference between both the texts is that Narada Bhakti Sutra describes the means of devotion for ordinary people while the Shaindilya Bhakti Sutra narrates the means of devotion for both ordinary and sinful people. The second major distinction between the Narada Bhakti Sutra and the Shaindilya Bhakti Sutra is that in the Narada Bhakti Sutra, devotion is considered as the only means of devotion whereas in the Shaindilya Bhakti Sutra both knowledge and devotion are considered as means. A person can achieve Prema Bhakti by following the means of devotion given in Narada Bhakti Sutra and Shandilya Bhakti Sutra according to his interest. It can be concluded that devotion leads to the ultimate culmination of emotional refinement, as a result of which all the problems of the present times find their solution.</em></p>}, journal={Dev Sanskriti Interdisciplinary International Journal}, author={Rani, Shikha}, year={2018}, month={Jul.}, pages={15–21} }
